The Scorpio Races

I just finished the last page of this particular book called The Scorpio Races and there is a reoccurring message in book that caught my attention particularly. How hard are you willing to stand up for the things you love? At this moment, i am going to point out there are going to be spoilers in this blogpost. As the male protagonist in this book, Sean is fiercely loyal and holds absolute devotion to this red stallion that can never completely be part of him because the sea that calls out to him is a part of it that cannot be taken away. But the stallion actually found comfort in a human instead the whispers of the salty ocean that draws it towards it. And despite the fact that the red stallion killed his father, the stallion is Sean's family and he would give everything in his power to protect something he actually cares and would stand up for. How many times in our lives do we actually stand on our feet and go against our values just for someone or something? No reasons, no motives. Just for that something or someone. Such instances have become as rare as the dodo bird. As time passes, people tend to forget to cherish and more importantly appreciate the value of friendship and family ties. Stand up for your loves ones and help them remember why they would do the same because you are their safe haven, their comfort.

Sherlock Holmes

Put down whatever you are doing right now and run to your computer and watch the Sherlock series by BBC One. If you are a fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's reknown Sherlock Holmes stories, the more you should watch this show. Each series has three episodes and they run about 88 minutes or so. I assure you once you start watching it, you will not stop. Brilliant cinematography and characters. Benedict cumberbatch really caught the essence of Sherlock Holmes, he is the living and breathing Sherlock Holmes. My favourite episode would be episode one of series two. The chemistry between Sherlock and Irene was electric. This is one of the best tv series ever made next to bones. It is beautifully crafted to keep you on the edge of your seat. Two words, Bloody Brilliant!

Ryan Reynolds Day

I hereby declare today as Ryan Reynolds Day, and i approve of this message. Haha! I went to catch Safehouse with Xinyi and we both got a little carried away. Did you know that the cinema at Orchard Lido has two floors? What a revelation. The film kept me on the edge of my seat (Probably due to the ridiculous amount of mountain dew i've consumed). Both of us were squealing, softly of course at the end of the film at how cute/hot Ryan Reynolds is. Xinyi even came over to re-watch The Proposal with me. So we had a coherent agreement to knight this day as Ryan Reynolds day. After which we had a finger licking pizza. That's basically i did for friday. Not the most interesting thing in the world, i figured. How was your day???????

Food: Tiramisu

Hello! So i got on with an adventurous spirit and somehow decided to cook up a storm on a whim. I went to the library and picked up the Gordon Ramsay's cook book 'Recipes from the F word'. You see what they did there with the name? Haha, it feels like chef ramsay is going to start screaming vulgarities and throw away the mess we made. We had to improvise quite a bit because the egg whites were not forming stiff peaks. We were there whisking for more than 15 minutes! My arms feels like they were going to detach themselves from my body any minute. But the end product looks pretty decent. Will be making more of these little food journey as i cook away into the sunset. That's all for now! :)
